The Live Picking Portable Application is part of MJD Software's wireless picking solution. It is a Win CE program that runs on a Symbol mobile computer with an integrated bar code scanner. Live Picking directs the picker to pick orders and ensures that the correct items and quantities are picked. Orders from Sage Accpac ERP Order Entry are exported as electronic picking files and uploaded to the hand-held terminal. The picker is prompted through the picking process. The program verifies that items scanned or entered, match the items on the order and warns if the user over or under picks an item. This makes it almost impossible for the picker to pick the wrong item or the wrong quantity and thus almost eliminates mis-shipments. If an item requires serial or lot numbers, it will prompt the user for them.
